CNC
Machining
Since the 1980s, High Duty Plastics’ vision required an ongoing investment programme in the latest technology machining equipment. HDP now has one of the most advanced workshops in the country, with a raft of modern equipment. This includes CNC lathes, CNC machining centres, CNC routers, 3D printers, robotic welders and laser cutting & engraving machines.
Engineering
Plastics
Engineering plastics are those which possess physical properties enabling them to perform for prolonged use in many applications. These materials are also able to perform over a wide temperature range, under mechanical stress, and in difficult chemical and physical environments. We carry a wide range of engineering plastics including UHMWPE, HDPE, Nylons, Acetal, Phenolics, PTFE, Polyurethanes, PVC, Acrylic, Polycarbonate, Peek and many other specialty materials.
Oilybush ®
HDP is the sole New Zealand manufacturer of Oilybush(R). This high performance cast nylon product is oil-filled and self-lubricating, using a non-toxic oil. Cast nylon is often described as the work horse of engineering plastics because of its wide range of properties. We carry an extensive range of various sizes and can also manufacture custom size material when needed.
D-Glide
Ultra-Performance Bearing Material
D-Glide is the family name of a series of composite bearing materials developed by DRIE-D. D-Glide material possesses strength, durability, dimensional stability and excellent wear characteristics. This means they can match or even outperform metal-based materials & other composites. Furthermore, their low wear & self-lubrication often allow for maintenance free operation. Besides being time-saving and cleaner, this solution is also a lot more environmentally friendly. High Duty Plastics is the sole New Zealand distributor of all D-Glide materials.
Laser Engraving
& Cutting
As an innovative market leader, we understand that time equals money. This encouraged us to invest in the fastest CNC laser engraving machine on the market to increase productivity. When it comes to laser engraving and cutting, our primary goal is for our customers to be profitable through innovation.
3D
Printing
With our ongoing investment plan in the latest technology, we have added top-of-the-line 3D printers to our portfolio. With their unique continuous carbon fibre reinforcement and work horse reliability, they can produce the strongest, most versatile parts in our portfolio. They are the only printers in the industry that enable you to go straight from CAD to beautiful, end-use strong parts in a matter of hours. They also allow your choice of reinforcements & plastics. With High Duty Plastics, you can remove the time hassle & design iterations, putting your parts to use right off the printer.
Project
Management
Our goal is to bring our clients’ projects to reality by coordinating and completing projects on time, within budget and within scope. We can oversee all aspects of projects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities and monitoring & summarizing progress to ensure customer satisfaction. High Duty Plastics has its own dedicated design facility, employing the latest technology in CAD/CAM and FEA simulation software, with a specialist team of application engineers.
Technical Design
& Engineering
Our team of design engineers are highly skilled in designing innovative & industry-leading solutions. They have a vast amount of experience throughout various engineering sectors developing virtual methods of different designs. They are able to determine manufacturing requirements by estimating production costs, examining materials, modifying & retesting designs, using CAD and CAM systems for designing & visualizing projects, and identifying new systems & processes.
